6th Annual Canadian Videogame Awards Announce Winners

On Sunday, Reboot Communications and EP Media held their 6th annual Canadian Videogame Awards to celebrate the developers that hail from the third largest video game development country in the world.

Of the 39 Canadian developers nominated for awards this year, only eight different teams walked away with any kind of victory.

Ubisoft Quebec won the most with “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” attributing to the company taking home five of the 17 awards, including “Game of The Year”.

The most nominated companies were Ubisoft Montreal (11 nominations), Klei Entertainment (11), Square Enix Montreal (10), Alientrap (9), Ubisoft Quebec (9), Bioware (6), and Semidome Inc (5).  However, both Alientrap and Semidome Inc. walked away without winning awards in any of their respective categories.

The winner of this year’s fan-selected “Best International Game” was CD Projekt RED’s “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”.
